Special VisitorsThis past week my aunts came in for a visit to get away from the cold in NY, and Estelle came as well. Estelle is a very close family friend and has been battling lung cancer for several months now and was fortunate enough to be able to visit us this trip. We are so happy we were able to spend some time with her and we hope she joins my aunts in March for another visit. We will continue to keep her in our prayers. This picture above, Mia was sharing her princess crowns with her. Below my aunt read Mia a book before bedtime and it happens to be one of her favorites Goodnight Moon. We enjoyed their visit and can't wait to see them after the holidays!

3 year old update
Friday was Mia's 3 year old check up. Mia is now 39 1/4 " tall and 38 lbs. So that puts her at 90% for height and 70% for weight. So you know that means??? 3T for shirts and 18-24 months for shorts and pants and of course the pants are floods. Thank god we live in FL and her jeans look cute. I don't know what I would do if we had a winter with snow. I would be at the seamstress a lot I guess. I am on the committee for a new park that is going to be built in our development and we had an event to introduce the neighborhood to the site of where it will be. The original owner of the property donated 8 acres to the county for a future park. So I am in charge of all the children stuff. This past Saturday I did face painting at an event held there, while I corralled my Friend Tami and her daughter Tami to help sell popcorn and Mike and my Dad to work the inflatable slide and bungee run. We had a bake sale held by the Girl Scouts . I must have painted at least 70 faces. The event was free and I had someone ask me for cards, CARDS? I have never done this before!!! It was fun and the kids loved it. In this economy with so many cutbacks, I hope our park gets off the ground sooner than later. Sorry our posts have been sporadic it is because we have been very busy, and with the holiday season approaching its going to get busier!!!!! YIKES!

ON THE GO Mia had a wonderful time at Disney and this time Daddy joined in on the fun. The first 2 days my best friend Joey and her daughter Alyssa joined us and we did Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. Then Daddy came up and it was just the three of us. My friend Tamara helped me out and got us breakfast at Chef Mickey's on Saturday morning and Mia was soooo excited. She was yelling over to the characters from the table before they made their rounds to our table. Mia and I usually go to Disney with one of my girfriends and their children, but this time, Mike got to see how excited she gets when the princess's dance on stage or when we go on a ride.
I think we may have him hooked. Only time will tell!!

Shooting the aliens on Buzz Light Year!

Thank you Grandaddy for coming to visit me for my birthday and always coming to stay with our doggies so we can go on vacation.

I love my singing card! I still open it and dance around the house.

Happy 3rd Birthday Mia ! ! !Saturday Mia had her birthday party on the farm. It was great!
We had pony rides, a petting zoo and hay rides. The kids had a blast and the parents had a chance to mingle and relax as well.
She received so many great gifts and she talked about it the whole next day.

More pictures from the party coming soon . . . . .

Our precious girl got a BIG GIRL hair cut yesterday. Next week we celebrate Mia's 3rd Birthday and we decided to get a haircut. The long hair was great but it always had to be pulled back from her face and everytime we picked her up from school, her barrette/clip for the day vanished into a place where the socks must go from the dryer. We will miss the ponytails but she looks a litttle more stylish. She loves it and I think it looks adorable on her. We left her bangs long and I can always put a cute clip or bow to pull it back. Mike and I think it makes her look older and for that part we don't like it. Where has our baby girl gone? She gives orders, talks, and acts like a miniature adult. Saturday is her Bday party and the next week we are off to visit Mickey and Minnie. We even scored some seats to Chef Mickey's for breakfast. When I told her we were having breakfast with the Disney clan, she just opened her mouth and said YYEEEAAAAA!!

The Halloween/Fall
Boxes have come down
from the attic and Ms. Mia
was her nosey usual self and
wanted to get into everything.
So we took some of the masks
out of the costume box.
She wanted her Abuelo
to join in on the fun too!

Harvest Moon &
Paper Lanterns

Sunday we celebrated Mid-Autumn Harvest Moon with our local ladies. Our event kicked off on the beach, late afternoon and ended at sundown with the most beautiful moon over the water. The reflection of the moon off the water was wonderful. The girls were able to paint, color, or add stickers and decorate their own paper lanterns. I hope someone will share their photos of the girls on the beach with their lanterns and flashlights. My camera shots came out to dark to post. All the families pitched in and brought something to eat and the girls had a good time running around and giggling. We hope to get together more often, the company was great!!

Mia Ballerina
This week Mia started ballet class. It was so cute to see all the little girls in their leotards. The class is for 3 year olds, but since Mia will be 3 next month they let her join now. Some of the girls have taken the class before as they are almost 4, so I had to remind myself that Mia was the youngest in the class. This shot is one of the few times Mia was looking at the teacher and following her directions. The other times she was looking at her self in the mirror and smiling while looking at me. I kept motioning for her to turn around and listen to the teacher. Overall, they said since this is her first lesson, it is to be expected. None the less, I thought she looked adorable!

This Labor Day weekend we went camping to St. Augustine. Both Mike and I haven't been there since we were kids so we thought a little holiday road trip would be a good idea. It was great, we met up with our friends Dave and Jackie that live about 45 minutes south of where we were. We were busy and Mia had a ball. She loved sleeping in the bunk beds and watching her movies. The weather was great and we got to see a lot. On the drive home we took a scenic route and came upon a dolphin conservation center and Mia loved getting close and personal with the dolphins. It was a small quaint place with very little people so we got to see them do tricks and come up on the edge of the glass. She was giggling when they did that.

All you need is love. . .

yesterday I celebrated the BIG 40, yep I can't believe it!The day was great and it ended with a lovely dinner at a new restaurant here in Vero Beach called Oriente. It is in the new hotel Costa D'Este which is owned by Gloria Estefan and her husband. The food was excellent but the company was better. Although I wish I could have shared this momentus day with all my well wishers, you were there in thought. I could feel the love yesterday and I felt very special. Thank you everyone.

Danny celebrates his BIG 50 on MOnday so we usually celebrate every year together!!
