Sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa's
My parents have babysat for Mia on several occasions, however; they have always taken place at our house. So this time we decided to do things a little different. I always feel bad when Mike and I arrive home late and my parents are barely awake in the living room watching TV. Yesterday my mom picked Mia up at 5pm to take her to their house where she would have dinner and then they were going to bring her to get ice cream at Dairy Queen (her favorite). She had her backpack packed with her Pj's, Mulan and Jungle Book DVD, her blankees and her toothbrush with toothpaste. She was so excited and so were we, because when we told her she was going to sleep at Grandma and Grandpa's she asked if we were coming and we told her that she was going alone. My mom called to say she was just down the street and we walked her out to the car and I looked at Mike and asked him "Are you a little sad?" he of course said "yes" and I said "So am I". Well Ms. Mia gave grandma a big hug and gave us a kiss and they were off. Mike and I looked at each other and said WOW! It was 5:15 and we were not leaving the house until 8:30pm, so we ended up getting involved in some chores that we really needed to get done around the house and realized how quick we accomplished them without Mia touching and getting in the middle of things. At 8:30 we leave the house and head down the street and Mike says "Forget going out, let's go get Mia" I laughed and said "You are nuts", I always thought I was the softy, it turns out its Mike.
We both had a great time and made an agreement to do it once a month. We slept in and picked up Mia around 10am, where she greeted Mike at the door with her PJ's and backpack on!

My sister forwarded me some pics from her vacation collection and I absolutely love this one of my precious niece Kenedy and myself. I can still remember the day I got the call that she was born. I was still in Florida awaiting her birth so I could fly up to hold her.

I love you Kenedy! My favorite niece : ) Thank you for being such a great BIG cousin!!

This past week we had family in town, so the cousins got to spend some time together. We also were able to celebrate Titi's 60th Bday. We had it our house and it was an all day affair. The kids had fun swimming and using the slip and slide. We cooked some of my aunts favorite food and finished it off with a yummy birthday cake. As you can see below, we caught Mia sticking her finger in it before we could cut and serve it. Deanna took some photos of the cousins too this week, so I will post when she emails them to me.

Mia has certainly been busy with B-day party invites lately. This one is from a good friend of hers in preschool. Mia and Haley have been in the same classes for the last year. This party was at her house and Mia had a blast!

Come on Daddy
Play CandyLand with me !!
Mia really enjoys playing Candyland with her Daddy. Although all I here is, "Mia, no, you have to listen, we take turns" she now asks "Daddy - you play with me? I listen"

Happy 4th ! ! !
we got up early to see the parade and then enjoyed the festival. People on the floats were throwing candy to the kids , which Mia loved and then the occasional squirt from a water gun kept us cool. After the parade there was music and a festival. Mia enjoyed the slide as you can see below, and of course "the ponies". Tonight we head out the have a picnic with friends and see the fireworks.
