We went for a visit to our friend, Chris and Diane's house because one of their horses gave birth. When we saw her, she was only 3 days old. It was so cute and Mia keeps asking us when can we go back and see the baby horsey. Diane let Mia help her feed Max and she was in awe at Fresca and her newborn Amber.
(actually so was I, I have never been up close and personal with a foal before)

Can someone tell me
where has my little girl gone??
this picture was taken Sunday at a birthday party. She looks so grown up in this shot and it made me realize how much she has blossomed. I can't believe that this August will be"3" years since we have been home from China. Many people say that a person's make up and personality stem from genetics and environment, I firmly believe that environment has a great part of a person's make up. I laugh sometimes when I see her do things that remind me of Mike or when she says things that sounds just like something I would say. She loves animals and is fascinated by any creature. Mike and Mia can spend an evening looking at gecko's and finding tree frogs. They love to catch grasshoppers and when Mike finds a beetle in the pool he scoops it out and puts it in a jar for her to admire for a while. She always reminds him to let them go so they can be with their Mommy and Daddy! When we are doing something special she says to me, "Mommy, did you have fun?" and when I say yes she asks, "What was your favorite part?"

Mike decided to get up early with Mia Sunday morning and let her watch some TV in the guest room, so I could sleep in. Well, while Mike closed his eyes for a while, Mia decided to decorate her Daddy with her stickers. When I walked in that room and saw this,
I was hysterical laughing!

Broward Bound . . . . . this weekend we headed to S. Florida for a little visiting and bday party. We hadn't been down to visit in a while and we had a great time. It is so hard to get to see everyone so I decided we would visit more often. We love staying with Molly, because we feel so at home. Mia got to spend some time with her special friend Kylee while we adults got some visiting time too!!

Daddy's with their girls. . . .

Grandaddy met us for dinner Friday night

Our hostess Molly

Alyssa had a skating party, what a hoot!! Mia insisted on skating by herself and poor Rich was a saint and was trying to help her. I think we have to wait a couple more years before trying that again. I had to bribe her with tokens for the video games to distract her. Mike and I were NOT getting on the ice, so we felt bad for Rich.

thirsty anyone!!??

Spring Break is over and a good time was had by all. We had the pleasure of visiting with Isabelle, Jack, and Makena who flew in from California to meet up with us for a few days. Makena and Mia are China "cousins" and are both from Chongqing. We traveled together to be united with our girls in 2006. Mia is simply in love with Makena's brother Jack.
She wanted to sit next to him on all the rides. Although Disney was packed, I think we all had a good time. Kenedy left on Friday to head back home and we miss her : ( . Joey and Alyssa came up for a couple of days to join in on the fun also.

Easter Dress

Sunday, April 12, 2009

Happy Easterwe hope your family had a wonderful holiday. The Easter Bunny came to our house and he left some chewed up carrots and pieces of his cotton tail on our porch. When Mia saw it she said, "look at this mess, I hope he cleans this up!" Mike told her that maybe the squirrels will eat the left over carrots and she answered him, "No Daddy, squirrels don't eat carrots, they eat acorns" Ms. know it-all!!
