I finally bit the bullet and got a digital SLR camera. I have been eyeballing them for a while, I love photography and now that I have a personal subject, I decided to just get it. I decided on the Canon Rebel XSi with the basic lense to start. Once I have mastered the settings and different options, I am sure I'll get the fancy lenses and filters. Today was my first day to use it and I decided to shoot Mia while she was in the tub tonight. It is so awesome to capture a picture as it is happening and not after the typical delay my previous camera did. I will still keep my Nikon 7mp point and shoot camera, because it fits so snug in my purse and I can whip it out whenever I need to. Here are my first 3 keeper shots, I love the one of her on her back laying in the water. Look for more shots as I get more familiar with my new toy!!!

That is sooo cool! I just got my new camera this weekend also, my first DSLR. I opted for the Canon 50D and a couple of fairly nice lenses. I should have been more practical, but I got too excited and got more than I really needed. I have read the owner's manual 1 1/2 times already since Friday.

I look forward to seeing your new pictures. The bathtub picture is ADORABLE. Great job!

Fabulous shots! We have a Canon 20D and LOVE it - can't believe we waited so long to get one! Enjoy! Some camera stores rent lenses - we've had loads of fun with ours...we have literally thousands pictures! You did a terrific job with these first shots. But then, the subject is pretty cute :)

Oh love the black and white. That is amazing. You need to submit that to the FCWL calendar! You will not regret your investment. We got the rebel xti, and my only regret was not having gotten it sooner. My pics in China are crappy! :( Started your blurb book yet?
