We have been home 2 months now and it seems like we have been a family a lifetime. Mia is learning so much and has said her first word, "BIRD". Our bird Marley squawks and sometimes whistles and she always points to her, when we ask her, Where's the bird? So oneday she said BIRD. She now says it when we are out and she sees birds fly by, it is so cute. She hates staying still and wants to go and go. We have to practically wrestle her to change her diaper or change her clothes. Her hair is finally long enough for a little clip, no pig tails yet but I managed to get a little clip in. I couldn't wait to be able to do that.
Mike is doing great in being Mr. Mom and Mia sure loves her daddy. They go to the park, read books and run errands. I love it when I arrive home and they are standing in the driveway and she recognizes me and starts smiling. There are times when Mike wants to pull his hair out, but one smile or giggle makes it totally worth it. I am enjoying my new job and the Monday thru Thursday thing is great.
My aunt's house is finally done and she is in town for the week, so we spent most of the weekend shopping and visiting. Mia loves to go out and see everything, she hangs her hands off the cart or stroller to touch everything and waves bye bye to everyone who stops to talk.

SPLISH SPLASH
Here is our 7pm ritual and Mia loves to play in that tub. I have an inflatable tub thinga majiga that goes inside our tub. I fill it up with bubbles and toys and she has a blast. It is great if she slips and slides around, she is protected from the side of the tub. Tonight after getting her out of the tub, I looked around and noticed that Mia has taken over my bathroom! There are so many toys inside our tub ( which I haven't soaked in since we got home from China), there is a green frog stuck to the side of my tub also filled with tub toys and it also is an organizer for her soap and bubble bath stuff. Her towel is now wedged over our towels and my once relaxing, candle filled oasis is now romper room, and you know what, I wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Every night Mia plays in her crib before going to sleep. I leave her in the crib after we unwind and listen to lullabies, however; as soon as a lay her down, she stands up and wants to play some more. Fortunately, I can kiss her goodnight and she plays and talks babble before finally falling asleep. Mike and I listen to her in the monitor and laugh sometimes. She does the same thing in the morning. She plays for about 45 minutes before she lets us know, it's time to get me out now! We put one of those interactive toys that attach to the inside of the crib and she loves to look at herself in the mirror and pull all the knobs.

Mike's new toy!
OK so Mike gets a new zero-turn mower and never gets to use it. My father has been offering to help Mike with the lawn. Poor Mike, he gets stuck doing all the hard stuff, like the edging and the part that needs to be done with the push mower. Don't get me wrong, Mike really appreciates the help but I know he would love to ride his new toy. My father doesn't even do his own lawn, he has a lawn service! I actually thought he was going to sleep in the garage with it when it was delivered.
Below is Kenedy riding the mower with Grandpa. She loved it, she was all smiles, Ihad to post these photos. . .

Happy 1st Birthday Mia !!
Yesterday was Mia's Birthday and as you can see, Mia really enjoyed her birthday cake as we celebrated her first year of life. Mia is able to stand up by on her own and has been taking half steps here or there. She should be walking soon. When she crawls now, she scoots on her hands and uses her feet, not her knees. She can take her fork and feed herself if we poke the food for her. She can wave and mutter bye bye and has said mama, dada, baba, all the basic baby words. She truly has changed since the day she was placed in our arms.
We had her ears pierced and she looks so cute. She enjoys music very much and dances in her car seat as soon as we put her in it. Mike and I have truly enjoyed our time with her and I am thankful both Mike and I have been able to stay home with her for this long. Tommorrow I go back to work and Mike will be Mr. Mom for now. If Mike finds his "DREAM JOB" he will take it and my mom will watch Mia. My work week is Monday thru Thursday so I still have a 3 day weekend with her. The weather is getting nice here and we just enjoy sitting on our back porch and relaxing as a family. Life is so much better having Mia in our life : )

What a Beautiful Weekend !
This weekend Mia was baptized on Saturday and on Sunday I had a Welcome Home Shower that my mother and sister threw for for Mia and I.
Mia's Baptismal Ceremony was absolutely beautiful! The weather was perfect and it truly was a celebration. We dressed Mia in a authentic Chinese dress in white which we bought while we were in China. We wanted to incorporate a little bit of her heritage. All the little girls wore the Chinese dresses Mike and I brought home for them. It truly was a special day! My sister and her family flew in on Thursday and my aunt also was able to join us. Thank You for making the trip we are happy you were able to share these special occasions with Mia.
Mia met her New Jersey cousins for the first time this weekend and it was so nice to see them play together. I will post some pictures of the rest of the weekend in a couple of days!
