Last day in Beijing. . . .

Today was a great day, we started with a tour of a local family. It was very interesting to be in a typical middle class Beijing family home. She opened up her home to us. We sat in her living room where she has lived for over 40 years and has raised 3 children. These homes have no bathroom and it is a large room seperated by a small room with a sink and hot plate for cooking. It is a courtyard style home that 4 families share.

I was able to take some pictures that reflected the everyday living of the Chinese people. We rode a rickshaw thru town and really got a taste of the Chinese culture. Doing this pre-trip to Beijing has given Mike and I great appreciation to where we live, what we have, and what we will offer Mia. Although we will never be able to explain to Mia everything about her homeland, we feel we can share what we have experienced with her.
